One step forward, two steps back...

...or so it seems sometimes!

Last weekend was Hot Lead, a fine little Canadian convention in Stratford, Ontario. Sold a chunk of the lead pile - enough to pay my casting order from RAFM, which I picked up from them while I was there.

That was all good, but on Thursday evening my computer died a horrible death. And then the next morning we left for Stratford, so there was little I could do at the time.

I have since bought a cheap laptop ($325+/-) which turns out to be better than my old PC which cost about $1200 IIRC. Of course, the expenditure was not budgeted for.

And today the muffler on the car gave out. It hasn't fallen off, it just seems to have come detached at the engine. As Kingston seems to be the pot hole capital of Canada this is perhaps not surprising. This will be the third car repair in the last five or six weeks. Previously the coolant system started leaking and before that one of the front tires had it's back broken - if that is the right way to describe it. I blame the pot holes!

*sigh*

What's Happening?

Apologies for the long break in posting anything...stuff has been going on albeit slowly.

I am about to place some re-stock orders for things like Ahoggya arms and other sets that I am running low on. In the case of the Ahoggya I have lots of bodies but have run out of halberd arms, for example. Hlutrgu warbands are also out and I am running low on Sacrifice and Puppet Master sets.

In addition, the Sapphire Kirtle master mold is done and next up is production molds and then some castings.

I've also touched base with Jeff about getting the Tinaliya and Swamp Folk back on track. (Basically I have to give him some quantities and then scrounge up money to pay for them!)

On the sculpting front, John is plugging away at the Red D's.

Federico is making Shen shield variants plus a selection of other fantasy shields. He has also been working on figures for the Garden of Kama range - Khmer, Amazons and Cham. I am intending him to do the fancy prows and sternposts for the galleys and canoes.

David is working on Lorun tribal warriors. He has been trying out some things and will hopefully have some pictures for me soon.

I've had the porter figures molded but there was a minor disaster during molding and I have to try and fix two of the figures before we can move forward as planned. :-(

Lord Freshsháyu hiTurukén

Sculpted by Allan Marsh

Lord Freshsháyu hiTurukén, is the human Kérdu (or general) of the Shén mercenary "Legion of the City of Chrí" in Tsolyáni service. A little eccentric, his armour is fashioned to make him resemble a Shén. As such, even though  Tsolyánu's national colour is blue, I assume his armour would be mostly black - or at least the  "Shén" bits anyway. His legion uses a sort of red-orange for trim so I guess he would have that also, and probably a touch of blue and, of course, some gold or silver to show his status.

I've ordered 50 of this figure which should be on their way right now:
